Mitch's Most Wanted

Everyone who dabbles in genealogical research will eventually run into what is referred to as a "brick wall". If you have any information on any person listed here I would greatly appreciate it if you could contact me with that information. Thanks!

Elusive People:

  1. John Lafond (13 Dec 1808 - 15 Apr 1907): Who are his parents?

    John Lafond is my great, great grandfather (my mother's grandfather). His obituary states that he was born in the the parish of Nicolet, in the province of Quebec, Canada. He was married to Marcelline St. Pierre in 1832, and they came to Wisconsin in 1834. He shows up in Lawrence, Brown County, Wisconsin starting with the 1850 Census.

  2. Marcelline St. Pierre: Do you known this person?

    Marcelline was married to John Lafond (see above) in 1832 and came to the Lawrence, Brown County, Wisconsin area from Canada in 1834. Who were her parents? Did she have siblings?

  3. Jean Joseph Liegois (Liegeois) (1800 - Bef. 1870): Do you know this person?

    I don't have much info for Jean Joseph. He was born about 1800 in Nivelles, Brabant, Belgium, and immigrated in 1855 aboard the ship "Helen Cooper" from Antwerp to New York (3 May 1855 to 18 June 1855) and died some time before 1870. Who were his parents?

  4. Marie Josephe Doyen (10 Aug 1800 - 3 Jun 1885): Any Information?

    Marie Josphe immigrated with Jean Joseph Liegois (above) aboard the ship "Helen Cooper" from Antwerp to New York, 3 May 1855 to 18 June 1855. She died in Casco (later Luxemburg) Township, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, and is buried in the St. Amand Cemetery, Walhain, Luxemburg Township, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin.

  5. Martinus J. Rudd (11 Jan 1834 - 28 Sep 1905): From Norway

    Martinus came from Norway about 1868 and settled in Minneapolis, Hennipen County, Minnesota. He worked as a Millwright for Willford & Northway Mnfg Co. and married Oliane Gulbranson.

  6. John Fredrick Grip (21 Feb 1851 - 11 Jan 1901): From Sweden

    John Fredrick Grip came from Sweden about 1871 and settled in Ishpeming, Marquette County, Michigan. He was married to Esther Elizabeth Wahlman 10 Dec 1880.
