PRETTY WEDDING TAKES PLACE AT LUXEMBURG

NEUERN- One of the prettiest weddings of the season was solemnized Tuesday morning at the hour of 9:00 o'clock in the St. Mary's Catholic church at Luxemburg when Miss Irene Marcelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marcell of the town of Luxemburg became the bride of Carl Glaser of Neuern. Rev. H. E. Huneck pronounced the words that united the prominent young couple.
The bride looked beautiful in a white charmeuse satin, lace trimmed dress with a veil caught with orange blossoms and pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and swansomians. The bridesmaid, Miss Albertine Marcelle, sister of the bride, wore a dress of coral georgette over yellow satin, and carried a colonial bouquet of roses and snapdragons. Miss Lillian Hruska wore a green georgette dress over pink satin and carried a colonial bouquet of roses and snapdragons. The groom was attended by a brother, George Glaser and Charles Marcelle, a brother of the bride.
Immediately following the ceremony relatives and friends repaired to the home of the bride's parents where a reception was held. The evening was spent in dancing.
The bride is a prominent young lady of the town of Luxemburg where she has resided her entire life with the exception of a few years while employed at Green Bay. The groom has made his home in the vicinity of Neuern practically all his life.
The newlyweds will make their home on the groom's farm in Neuern.
The many friends of the happy young couple join with this paper in extending congratulations and wishing Mr. and Mrs. Glaser many years of happiness and prosperity.

MARCELLE-BOEHM WEDDING SOLEMNIZED ON WEDNESDAY

A pretty wedding was solemnized Wednesday morning at nine o'clock in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in South Luxemburg, when Miss Albertine Marcelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marcelle of the town of Luxemburg, became the bride of Louis Boehm, son of Mr. Charles Boehm of Green Bay. Rev. J. Huhn performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a white beaded crepe romaine dress with a veil caught with pearls and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of roses, snapdragons and lilies of the valley. She was attended by Miss Evelyn Boehm, sister of the groom, who wore a blue taffeta dress with a rhinestone head band and a corsage bouquet of snapdragons and roses.
The groom was attended by Charles Marcelle, brother of the groom.
A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents for relatives and friends. In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Deterville hall at Walhain, which was largely attended.
The bride who is a former resident of Luxemburg has been employed at Green Bay for the past several years. The groom is employed at the Hoberg Paper Mills at Green Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. Boehm will make their home at Green Bay in the future.

On Tuesday evening about thirty friends pleasantly surprised Mrs. Eugene Cravillion, who was married at Dubuque, Iowa on Monday, at a miscellaneous shower, in the Bank auditorium. The evening was spent in playing various games. At eleven o'clock a tasty luncheon was served. The bride was the recipient of many pretty gifts.

LUXEMBURG YOUNG COUPLE MARRIED AT DUBUQUE, IOWA

The marriage of Miss Stella Vandenhouten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Vandenouten of the Village of Luxemburg, and Eugene Cravillion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cravillion, also of this Village, took place Monday morning at nine o'clock in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Dubuque, Iowa. The young couple who were both residing with their parents here left on Sunday for Dubuque where they wree married by Reverend Leopold Kitt, pastor of the congregation at that place. They returned here on Tuesday.
The bride wore a tan satin faced canton crepe dress with a hat to match and carried an arm bouquet of carnations and sweet peas.
On Thursday a high mass was read by Reverand L. A. Dobbelsteen in the St. Martin Catholic Church at Tonet, which was attended by the newly married couple, relatives and friends. Following a reception for relatives and friends took place at the home of the bride's parents at Luxemburg. One hundred and twenty families were invited to participate.

APPLETON----Mrs. Paul (Anna) Liegeois, 83, of 800 W. Winnebago St., died Thursday afternoon following a short illness. She was born in Brookside June 6, 1890, and lived there until moving to Appleton in 1916. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Gainor of Marinette and Mrs. Allen (Bernice) Hoeppner of Appleton; a sister, Mrs. Stanley Soloman, Milwaukee, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Leonard Ziemer will officiate at tuneral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home, with burial in Brookside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon until the hour of service."

34 Jose Aguirre

Jose G. Aguirre, passed away on December 17, 2007 at the age of 94. Born in Ft. Hancock, TX, he later made his residence in El Paso. After his retirement he moved to Clint, TX where he devoted his last 30 years raising animals and growing alfalfa. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 33 years of service. Under the leadership of Mr. Joe Battle, he took pride of having played a part in the construction of the "Spaghetti Bowl" and other parts of the "freeway". His dedicated work ethics continued throughout his life. Not too long ago he played an instrumental part in acquiring "City" water to the community. He was literally knee-deep in dirt, digging trenches and providing guidence in this community effort. Not only was he a dedicated employee, in the fifties he formed his own band and for many years on weekends played the music of the era at the famous "9-Mile Inn". He was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend who dedicated his life to his family and career. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and a "go for it" attitude. He is survived by his wife Maria, son Ricardo (Maria), daughters Rebecca and Norma, 8 grandchildren, Michael R., Cecilia M., Lilian R., Amy, Christy (Fred), Lucy J., Elisabeth Aguirre-Huereque (Paul) and Paul Albert Perez, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, his brothers Frank, Santiago, Elpideo and Cornelio Ronquillo and numerous nephews and nieces. He passed away peacefully at his farm surrounded by family, friends and his mare, Blondie. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Aung and staff, Dr. Jorge Rojero, Home care nurses and CNA, his neighbors who looked out for our parents, especially Max & Sue Winters, the Martinez Family, Esteban and Lidia Aguirre. Pallbearers, grandsons, Michael Aguirre, Paul Huereque, Paul A. Perez, Bernabe Luza and nephews Michael and Victor Ronquillo. Honorary Pallbearers, Eddie Ronquillo and Fred Perez. Mrs. Jospeph Cravillion, 44, died Tuesday at a Green Bay hospital, following a major operation. Her home was at 200 Farlin ave., Green Bay. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock at the SS Peter a nd Paul's Catholic Church in that city. Survivors are her husband, seven children, Gordon, Howard, Joseph, Jr., Verne, Bernice, Eleanor and Betty Ma e; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Aurie of the town of Luxemburg; two brothers, Henry Aurie of Green Bay and Albert Aurie of Luxemburg.

Louis Boehm, 70, 162 Crooks St., died Friday morning at a local hospital after a short illness. He was born in Bellevue to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Boehm and married the former Albertine Marcelle Sept. 7, 1927 in Luxemburg. Mr. Boehm had been a resident of Green Bay since then. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver and a maintenance man. Mr. Boehm was a member of St. Philip Church and the C.O.F. of the St. Willebrord Court 1611; and the Holy Name society of the church.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Kathleen) Meulemans, De Pere; one son, Joseph C. Germantown; four brothers, John, Bellevue; William, Charles, Lawrence, all of Green Bay; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Kramer; Denmark; three grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death.
At the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason after 1 p.m. Sunday. Forester Holy name and parish wake service 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Philip Church with the Rev. Paul Koszarek officiating. Burial at Allouez Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his memory.

Borlee, Valeria Ann Sister O.S.F.

Sister Valeria Ann Borlee, 75, of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis died on Friday, December 3, 2004, at 1 a.m. at St. Francis Convent Springfield, Illinois. Sister Valeria Ann was born in Red River, Wis., on December 18, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Mary Vendervest Borlee. She entered the Congregation on February 1, 1947, and professed her religious vows on October 4, 1949. Sister was a 1953 graduate of St. John’s Hospital School of nursing. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing form St. Louis University in 1963 and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Sangamon State University in 1980. She served the community as a registered nurse at hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin, USA; she was a nursing instructor at St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing from 1963 to 1970 and the Streator School of Practical Nursing from 1971 to 1972. From 1972 until 1989, she served in the Physical Therapy Department at the Motherhouse. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA from 1989-2000. She returned to the Motherhouse in 2000 and volunteered in several area there since that time.

She is survived by four sisters: Cecilia Howe, Green Bay, Wis; Barbara Schick, De Pere, Wis; Donna Hostelter, Jackson, Wis; and Regina Antonie, Brookfield, Wis; and four brothers: Robert, Richard and Bernard Borlee, Green Bay, Wis.; and Joseph Borlee, Bolingbrook, Ill; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and her Franciscan Sisters with whom she shared her life for 57 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Fred Borlee.

Visitation was held at the Motherhouse from 4 until 7 p.m. with a Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2004. The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father David Eckelkamp, OFM, on Monday, December 6, 2004, at 9 a.m. in St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at the Motherhouse. Burial will be in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Earl Borley, 82, New Franken, died Saturday afternoon April 26, 2003, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Sugar Bush to the late Joseph and Julia (Dantinne) Borley Sr. On Nov. 19, 1941, Earl married Dorothy M. Dart at St. Martin Church, Tonet. He operated the family farm at Slovan for several years and was a truck driver for Gauthier Construction Co. until his retirement. Later Earl was employed with Lamers as a bus driver.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; his children, Beverly (Gary) Fett, Judy (Gary) Vandenhouten, Elaine (Duane) Jeanquart, all of Luxemburg; Jillaine (Donald) Charles, Forestville; Jim (Sue) Borley, Dale (Faith) Borley, all of Luxemburg; Nancy (Carl) Wertel, Green Bay; one son-in-law, Richard Hamachek, Two Rivers; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Norville (Mabel) Borley, Mark (Dorothy) Borley, Julius (Verna Mae) Borley, all of Green Bay; Wilbert (Carol) Borley, New Franken; Joseph (Lorraine) Borley, Luxemburg; Leo (Lynn) Borley, Green Bay.

Earl was preceded in death by one daughter; Janice Hamachek; one son-in-law, John Estel; one grandson, Zachary Austin.

Entombment in the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

LUXEMBURG- Florian Borley, 84, a native of Walhain, died at a Green Bay nursing home Friday afternoon after a long illness. He formerly lived at R1, Little Suamico.
Mr. Borley married Mary Boulanger in Dyckesville 56 years ago. He was employed by Charmin Paper company for 30 years. Mrs. Borley died Oct. 25, 1965.
Survivors are a son, Elmer, Green Bay, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Delveaux, Sugar Bush.
The Rev. Earl Schuh officiated at services Monday morning in SS. Peter and Paul church, Green Bay. Burial was in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

"George Borley, 80, formerly of 1531 Main St., died Wednesday morning following a heart attack at. the home of his daughter at Green Bay, Rt. 1. He was born in Walhain and married Tracy Dantinne 55 years ago. She died April2, 1967. Mr. Borley operated a shoe repair shop on Willow Street until 1941, then was employed at Cleereman Machine Co. Until 13 years ago and worked at Newmans Store until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and SS. Peter and Paul Benevolent Society.
Survivors are four sons, Henry, Clarence and Wilfred, all of Green Bay; Donald, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Nora) Van Egeren, Green Bay, Rt. 1; Mrs. Norbert (Almira) Reinhard, Green Bay; 21 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Paul Delvaux, Town of Humboldt; one brother, Florian, Green Bay.
At Malcore Funeral Home after 6:30 tonight Rosary 8 each evening; Friday by Msgr. Peter Skell and members of Holy Name and SS. Peter and Paul Societies. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, SS. Peter and Paul Church. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery."

He was born at Walhain and farmed at Sugar Bush many years. At the time of his death he operated a tavern in Brown county. His wife, the former Clara Mathey, died 13 years ago, and survivors are a daughter, Cecelia, Green Bay, a son, Richard, New Franken; 3 brothers, Joseph of Sugar Bush, Florian and George of Green Bay; and a sister, Mrs. Paul Delvaux, Sugar Bush.

AGED MAN PASSES AWAY

Julian Borley, Former Resident of Sugar Bush Died Monday.

Julian Borley, aged resident of Brown county died at his home at Green Bay on Monday morning at eleven o’clock following a complication of diseases. Deceased was a resident of Sugar Bush until last spring when he moved to Green Bay where he was making his home. The body was taken to the home of a son at Sugar Bush and funeral services were held Thursday morning at ten o’clock from the St. Hubert’s Catholic church with Rev. H. Hallinde officiating at the last sad rites. Jule Tasquin. Louis Conard, Emil Matheys, John Spangler, Martin Dantinne and Anton Dantinne acted as pallbearers.
He was born in Walhain on July 17, 1856, being sixty-four years of age at the time of his demise.
Deceased is survived by his wife and five children, namely, Florian of Green Bay, George, Joseph, Jule and Mrs. Paul Delveaux of Sugar Bush. He is also survived by three brothers, Joseph of Dyckesville, Hubert and Victor of Sugar Bush.

LUXEMBURG- Mrs. Mary Delveaux, 85, R1 New Franken, died early Sunday in a Green Bay hospital.
The former Mary Borley was born May 9, 1891, in Walhain to Julian and Constance Borley and married Paul Delveaux in May 1915 at Sugar Bush. The death of Mr. Delveaux occurred 11 years ago.
Mrs. Delveaux was a member of the Altar Society of Our Lady Queen of Peace church.
Survivors include three grandsons, Myron and Kenneth Rabas, R1, New Franken, and Robert Rabas, Green Bay; a granddaugher, Nancy Rabas, Luxemburg; 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A daughter, one son, one granddaughter and four brothers preceded her in death.
The funeral was at Our Lady Queen of Peace church with the Rev. John P. Schmitt officiating and burial will be in St. Hubert’s cemetery. The McMahon funeral home was in charge.

MRS. DAVID (sic) LAFOND DIES AT HOSPITAL
Neenah -- MRs. David LaFond, 55, 317 Caroline street, died at midnight Monday at Theda Clark hospital. Mrs. LaFond was born in West De Pere and had been a resident of Neenah for the last six years. She was a member of the St. Margaret-Mary church, the Sanctuary society of the church and the Royal Neighbors.
Surviving are the husband, two sons, Daniel LaFond Jr., of Green Bay, Howard LaFond of Neenah, three daughters, Mrs. Jack Cameron of Appleton and Mrs. Alfred Reetz and Miss Marion LaFond, both of Neenah, five sisters, Mrs. David Allard of Milwaukee, Mrs. Edward Delbria of Ironwood, Mich., Mrs. Isaac Burnett of Niagara, Wis., Mrs. Mary Hanson and Mrs. Louis St. George of West De Pere and a brother, Henry Collette, of West De Pere.
The funeral will be Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Margaret-Mary church, the Rev. Joseph Glueckstein officiating. Burial will be at St. Margaret-Mary cemetery. There will be rosary Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the Sorensen funeral home.
